Patties Completes Their Epic Expedition

Patties Foods has officially wrapped up their extraordinary journey for the Explorers Mindset Programme, an expedition designed to push personal and leadership boundaries while challenging them physically and mentally. The Executive Team embarked on a series of bold adventures across Australia and New Zealand, raising vital funds for My Room Children’s Cancer Charity along the way. Here’s a recap of their inspiring journey.

The Journey: A Test of Endurance and Leadership

The Patties Foods Executive Team embraced every challenge with resilience and determination. Their expedition was nothing short of epic, including:

Each leg of the journey was designed to test their endurance while applying leadership and teamwork principles in real-world scenarios. But this wasn’t just a test of grit—it was a journey of purpose, supporting a cause close to the heart of Patties Foods.

Day 1: The 200km cycle from Pakenham to Bairnsdale

The expedition kicked off at 5am on a brisk morning at Patties Foods’ Pakenham site. Margaret Zita OAM from My Room Children’s Cancer Charity gave the team an inspiring send-off as they began their 200km cycle. Despite battling rain and wind, the team powered through, arriving in Bairnsdale at 6pm, greeted with smiles and applause. Their spirit? Unshaken. Their motivation? Unmatched.

Day 3: Kayaking Through the historic Lakes Entrance

Day three took the team down the Mitchell River in tandem kayaks for a 9km adventure. A hearty lunch at the Bairnsdale Bakery offered a much-needed break and an opportunity to connect with their local team, who showcased their fundraising efforts for My Room. A visit to the historic Lakes Entrance—the birthplace of Patties Bakery—reminded the team of their rich heritage. They were also joined by Lincoln Pan, Co-Head of Private Equity at PAG and Board Director of Patties Foods, whose energy inspired everyone to push forward.

Day 5: Hiking Across The North Island of New Zealand

The team crossed the Tasman for a stunning 19km hike across New Zealand’s North Island. Starting at Onehunga Reserve, they traversed through lush parks, including Cornwall Park and Domain Park, and ascended to the summit of Mt Eden and One Tree Hill. The panoramic views of Auckland served as a reminder of the beauty and inspiration found in nature. They completed their trek at Auckland Viaduct, celebrating with a BBQ hosted by the Patties NZ team, who continued the fundraising momentum.

Final Day: Running for a Cause in Perth

The expedition culminated in a 10km coastal run along Perth’s breathtaking Scarborough Beach. The team, cheered on by colleagues and supporters, ran in waves, united by their shared purpose. The journey ended with a celebratory breakfast, reflecting on their achievements and the impact of their efforts.
